Postdoctoral Research Associate: The Department of Biology at the University of Oxford is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our research team. The successful candidate will work on the project titled “Pod shatter in pea,” under the supervision of Lars Østergaard, contributing to research in legume developmental genetics. This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 6 months, located at the Biology Offices, South Parks Rd, Oxford.

* Hold, or be close to completion of, a PhD/DPhil in plant genetics/molecular biology, together with relevant experience.
* Possess specialist knowledge in molecular mechanisms controlling plant developmental biology.
* Proficiency in advanced molecular biology techniques such as Immuno-Precipitation followed by Mass Spec (IP-MS) and high-throughput sequencing techniques (e.g., Ribo-Seq, ATAC-Seq, and ChIP-Seq).
* Ability to manage own academic research and associated activities.
* Previous experience of contributing to publications/presentations.
* Excellent communication skills, including the ability to write for publication, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings.
Job Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will report to the Principal Investigator and will be a member of a research group with responsibilities for carrying out research in legume developmental genetics. The role involves managing academic research and administrative activities, developing new research methodologies, preparing and analyzing data, contributing ideas for new projects, generating research income, and collaborating in the preparation of research publications. The post holder will provide guidance to junior members of the research group and represent the group at external meetings or seminars.
