Joining our Global Electromagnetic team, you will be focused researching and developing electromagnetic designs and motores that control the operation of our applications. Within our small team you will be collaborating on global projects, configuring, integrating, testing, and developing software releases for electronic control units, tools, sensors, actuators, and harnesses. In this role, here are some of the ways you will make an impact: Being responsible for the design & analysis of existing and new electrical machines, in particular permanent magnet motor. Investigating electronic applications and systems problems, understanding the causal mechanisms, and recommending appropriate actions, solutions and documenting the results. Collaborating with product and software development teams and delivering control system designs, verified and calibrated software features and builds. Supporting global engineering teams across process, test, and tool development as part of technical functional excellence improvement activities. Engaging with engineering teams regarding material selection and specifications and helping in the creation of component and system DVP&R and implementation. Applying electronic hardware and interconnections across our products and analyzing technical issues. Translating stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements for which designs are developed. This is a 12 month FTC opportunity based at our Peterborough site on a hybrid basis. Qualifications To be successful in this role you will need the following: College, university, or equivalent bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with a postgraduate degree and research being idea, Have knowledge of electrical generators and motors with background knowledge of electrical engineering, electromagnetism of ferromagnetic materials and permanent magnets in design and analysis. Knowledge of permanent magnet motors or induction motors, bound field synchronous generators, power generation or traction applications. Entry level engineering work experience. Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
