An opportunity has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Genetic Counsellor in the East of Scotland Clinical Genetics Service based in Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. The successful applicant will be expected to practice in a wide range of genetic conditions including cancer genetics, cardiac genetics, general genetics and antenatal genetics. This post is an integral part of the departmental senior management team and the post holder will be expected to manage a team of Genetic Counsellors and Genetic Nurse Specialists and trainees. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the strategic direction of the genetic counselling and clinical service by playing a key role in management, education, training, research and audit activities. Applications are invited from Genetic Counsellors. You should be registered with the GCRB/AHCS with an MSc or equivalent qualification. You should have previous experience of a wide range of genetic conditions and managing a clinical caseload. You should be able to demonstrate leadership skills, have previous teaching experience and be willing to adapt to the changing needs of the service.
