About the role:
Control, maintain and administer all company systems to a high level of accuracy
Ensure company procedures and policies are adhered to
Report to management on performance of systems
Provide third line support to all ICT teams
Actively engage with other team members in internal training, mentorship and knowledge transfer
Provide support to the Systems Administration Manager
Diagnose, troubleshoot and resolve service, software and hardware issues
Install, configure and maintain service, software, hardware and application components
Identify and implement new strategies for optimal system operations and processes
Enforce security best practices to prevent cyber-attacks and security breaches
Duties and Responsibilities
Complete Active Directory Management, including but not limited to group policy, users, computers/servers, DHCP, DNS, PKI and security
Microsoft Office 365 services configuration, management and support
Microsoft Azure services configuration, management and support
Management of approximately 600+ worldwide servers across multiple domains, and ensuring that the servers are maintained including MS critical/security updates, vendor software updates and remediation of monitored errors
Provide support to business software owners running on managed ICT servers
Responsible for administering, upgrading and maintaining all back-end systems
Follow the change management processes to ensure all changes are logged and changes applied with no un-scheduled downtime.
Responsible for administering, upgrading and maintaining all existing systems including Exchange, SCCM, SQL, Hyper-V, VMware, Citrix, RDS/AVD etc.
Responsible for ensuring Anti-virus is fully functioning and up-to-date across the WAN and all servers are protected
To fully manage the Citrix/RDS/Azure Farms and Remote Published Apps.
To assist management team in capacity planning
To assist management team in availability planning
To manage and implement operational projects
To liaise and cooperate with the projects team on business project implementations
To ensure all servers are monitored and the expected server performance is delivered
Use the call management system to track and action calls/changes within agreed SLAs
To proactively look for improvements and investigate new technologies which could improve the service provided to the businesses
24x7x365 rota-based on-call server support
To act as an escalation point for all ICT Teams for any technical issues they encounter and to endeavor to provide a solution and/or advice
What systems knowledge will you need?
Proven experience in a Systems Administrator role
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills is essential
Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows 10/11
Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft RDS/App-V
Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Hyper-V/SCVMM
Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Azure
Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office 365
Good Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Windows 2003 through 2022
Good Knowledge and experience of Active Directory/DNS/DHCP and other Microsoft domain technologies
Good knowledge and experience of Microsoft Exchange 2013-2019
Good Knowledge and experience of Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager is desirable
Knowledge and experience of Zabbix monitoring platforms is desirable
Knowledge and experience of Microsoft SQL Server is desirable
Knowledge and experience of ForcePoint Web Security is desirable
Knowledge and experience of Linux (Red Hat/Cent OS) is desirable
Knowledge and experience of Windows Scripting (PowerShell) is desirable
Knowledge and experience of VMware ESX is desirable
Knowledge and experience of Citrix Presentation Server/XenApp is desirable
Knowledge and experience of General TCP/IP, routing, VPN’s and Firewall networking is desirable
