You will lead, oversee and be accountable for all operational activities, inclusive of improvement plans, projects and effective operational delivery. Key Responsibilities: Lead sector strategy in response to the voice of our customers, enabling renewal and growth with existing and new customers. Develop operational strategies, policies/ procedures, with responsibility for coordinating day-to-day transportation operations and directing major projects. Focusing on delegating tasks accordingly, monitoring performance and following up on business objectives. Own P&L, with responsibility for forecasting, budgeting and reporting cycles (open/closed), in line with company budgets and financial reports. Manage and optimise key transport KPIs relating to delivery, customer and legal requirements and accident prevention. Establishing company policies, implementing necessary changes, and adhering to compliance procedures, laws and regulations. Lead, develop and coach multi-functional and diverse teams with a focus on continuous improvement, innovation and culture of care. Responsible for all elements of delivering successful revenue/contribution targets in terms of revenues, costs and profits. Allocate company resources, materials and equipment to the most productive functions, supply chain and delivery management. Holding discussions with stakeholders on strategic direction, trends and opportunities. Ensure that all Transport H&S, legislative, CI and Ops Excellence requirements are understood and adhered to throughout the teams. Note: National role which requires minimum 50% UK travel. What will you bring to our team? We’re looking for you to utilise your extensive operational knowledge that has been proven within a large, complex 3PL environment ( minimum budget experience of £100m). With your excellent understanding of the operational and commercial challenges, risks, opportunities and legislation within transport, you’ll be impacting our large commercial fleet. Due to the size and complexity of our business, having experience of large-scale open book contracts is essential, with demonstrable delivery of results through your teams. Your dedication for creating opportunities through innovation and managing change are key, whilst demonstrating highest levels of integrity, leadership and team development. We’re looking for you to hold safety at the heart of everything we do, so whilst having a track record of delivering transport operations, this is to be underpinned by safety culture as a priority. Your proven business analytical mindset, identifying opportunities whilst managing partner relationships, contracts and agreements will be required, with expertise within the transport field for legal rules, guidelines and principles.
