As a Senior Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and school leadership to deliver tailored interventions, create an inclusive learning environment, and provide strategic support to students with diverse needs. Your expertise will be instrumental in implementing personalised learning plans, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring best practices in SEN support. This role requires a high level of initiative, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to supporting students with varying abilities and needs.
Position Details:
- Location: Near Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
- Position: Senior Learning Support Assistant
- Hours: 09:00-16:00 Monday - Friday
- Salary: £86-£90/day Inclusive of 12.07% Holiday Pay
- Contract: Temp to Perm
Key Responsibilities as a Senior Learning Support Assistant:
- Lead and deliver tailored support to students with SEN, ensuring a structured and nurturing learning environment.
- Assist in developing and implementing personalised learning strategies in collaboration with teachers and support staff.
- Mentor and support junior Learning Support Assistants, providing guidance and sharing best practices in SEN education.
- Encourage independence and confidence in students, promoting social, emotional, and academic development.
- Monitor, assess, and report on student progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
- Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and families to ensure a collaborative approach to learning and well-being.
Senior Learning Support Assistant Skills & Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting students with special educational needs.
- A compassionate, patient, and understanding approach to working with children.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting the welfare of young people.
- A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
- Must be able to commute to near Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
