Working alongside a small team of growth driven founders and highly capable engineers, you will be responsible for establishing the in-house finance function. This is an opportunity to join a high-growth, profitable and investor backed start-up at an early stage and as the founding member of the finance team. As our ideal Accountant, you will have the following skills and experience:
* Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
* Experience with online recurring payments preferred
* Knowledge of Xero accounting software preferred
* Confident communication skills
* Strong commercial acumen
* Highly numeric/strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Advanced level spreadsheet skills and PC literacy
* Drive to continually improve processes and seek new challenges
* Ability to work well under pressure, with attention to detail, and meeting deadlines
* Ability to be flexible with time, particularly surrounding month and quarter end closing
* Highly organised
* Ambitious and prepared to grow with role, further education available as required
* Comfortable managing own workload and self-disciplined
What will I be responsible for?
The role as Accountant allows the successful candidate to own and manage the entire accounting process. Your day-to-day duties will include:
* Monthly, Quarterly & Annual preparation of management accounts
* Continuous management of all financial systems
* Creation and monitoring of budgets
* Monthly Payroll
* Cash flow management
* Manage overseas corporation tax and sales tax obligations
* Analyse financial performance and help craft longer-term strategy
* Daily internal financial report and reporting of KPI’s
* Assist with data analysis to deliver valuable insight to other members of the team
* Production of monthly and quarterly reports
* Bank and merchant account reconciliation
* Orchestrate weekly payment runs to suppliers
* Help design, implement and iterate on financial systems and procedures
* Stakeholder and third-party investor relations
