The pharmacy team is already well embedded within the MDT which will allow you to grow your clinical and leadership skills in a supportive setting that recognises the pivotal role that pharmacy plays in patient care.
A change in directorate portfolios will provide the environment for a motivated individual to work collaboratively to improve patient care and medicines safety across all parts of the surgical patient journey.
The role will also lead the development of clinical services to paediatrics across the organisation.
Main duties of the job
1. To be responsible for the provision of a high quality clinical pharmacy service to surgical services (specifically general surgery, urology, obstetrics & gynaecology).
2. To lead and develop pharmacy services to paediatrics.
3. To liaise with and provide medicines management reports for the Planned & Surgical Care directorates to ensure safe, effective, cost efficient prescribing.
Job responsibilities
1. To lead the organisation and development of the pharmacy service to surgical services specifically general surgery, urology, obstetrics & gynaecology.
2. To provide a pharmacy lead for paediatric services.
3. To identify and promote best practice medicines use across the Planned and Surgical directorate.
4. To participate in consultant/specialist ward rounds and multidisciplinary team meetings.
5. To produce prescribing guidelines and care pathways for patients across the Planned & Surgical directorate.
6. To undertake risk management, including investigating clinical incidents in surgical services and ensure compliance with medicine legislation.
7. To proactively undertake and develop Quality Improvement initiatives across the directorate and organisation.

Salary: £53,755 to £60,504 a year per annum pro rata.
