The Role
We are looking for a Senior Facilities Technician to join our team and play a key role in supporting a dynamic life science laboratory. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities, maintaining a safe and efficient environment for groundbreaking research and innovation. Working in a life science laboratory means being part of a team that enables scientific discoveries by maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence.
About the Position
Shift: Monday - Friday
Salary: £26,000
Location: Chatteris
Contract: Full Time & Permanent
The day to day
* Keep the site clean, safe, and well-maintained.
* Assist with repairs, stock control, and resource planning.
* Ensure accurate record-keeping and compliance with safety procedures.
* Support external contractors and visitors on-site.
* Communicate effectively with teams to ensure smooth operations.
* Identify and suggest improvements for processes and safety.
* Foster a positive and proactive workplace culture.
The Essentials
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Previous experience with SAGE (desirable but not essential).
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good organisational and numerical skills.
* Problem-solving mindset, with a proactive approach to improvement.
