With our consumer at the heart your key focus will be
1. Operate, maintain and troubleshoot specialist instrumentation such as density meter, spectrophotometer, GC, HPLC, AAS and any other such instrumentation, having first undertaken specific training.
2. Sensory Analysis – prepare samples for Sensory Panel, maintain reference samples, reporting any anomalous results. Sensory analysis of samples for positive release.
3. Key stakeholders include Distilling, Spirit Supply, Bottling, Blending, Quality, NPD, Logistics and Co-packers. Prioritise samples according to the needs of the business, using LIMS to record samples and their results.
4. Collaborate with other areas to investigate and resolve issues from non-conformance samples and consumer complaints.
5. Apply 5S principles to the laboratory environment, ensuring good housekeeping and maintaining stocks of consumables and store all incoming samples appropriately in accordance with HMR&C guidelines.
6. Participate in the review and continuous improvement of lab techniques and operating procedures, suggest and implement improvements and benchmark against other laboratories.
7. Review and carry out COSHH and risk assessments of the laboratory area, operating within EHS guidelines and participate fully in internal and external SQS audits.
