As an IT Network Engineer, you will join a small team of technical staff dedicated to providing the most efficient and reliable IT Network Infrastructure to support the Trust's digital systems.
The primary focus will be to advance the ongoing upgrade of the network infrastructure across the Trust and support staff with network-related issues reported through our ticketing system.
Main duties of the job
The role requires skills in diagnosing and resolving network issues received via our service desk. Understanding how the network infrastructure supports Trust services and applications is essential to meet stakeholder needs.
You will perform security changes aligned with the Digital Security Group's directions, including reviewing existing firewall configurations and proposing changes for review.
The post holder will update Trust network assets to maintain accurate records for audit and lifecycle management.
Travel between Trust sites may be required, including transporting network equipment.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Level 5 qualification in a recognized IM&T field or equivalent experience
* Evidence of ongoing professional development
* Transport access for on-call and site visits
* CCNA or equivalent certification
Experience
* Experience in IT Infrastructure/Communications environments
* Configuring Cisco products in wired and wireless networks
* Knowledge of Data Network topology/environments
* Practical IP telephony knowledge
* Organizational and problem-solving skills
* NHS IT support experience
* At least 2 years supporting data network environments
* Experience with Cisco Prime and ISE software
* Experience with networking equipment from Fortinet, Checkpoint, and others
* Experience working with IP telephony
