Business Development Manager

Role Overview
As the Business Development Manager, you will actively and continually pursue new business growth through the identification and development of new customers within the business sector, as well as maintaining and growing any existing customers.
Establish an active pipeline of new ongoing fleet customers through lead generation and B2B cold calling.
Work collaboratively across internal departments and external suppliers involved in the delivery of fleet services, ensuring correct processes and systems are in place.
Key Responsibilities
1. Follow precisely and consistently the manufacturer sales process, including meeting prospecting and enquiry management targets.
2. Using various sources, prospect for new car customers regularly to create sales opportunities. Maintain regular contact with all new and existing customers to ensure relationships are sustained for potential new and repeat business.
3. Ensure customer information, sales activities, vehicle documentation, and other relevant information is kept and maintained accurately and comprehensively to the required manufacturer standard.
4. Maximise sales opportunities by offering finance solutions to customers, adhering to FCA guidelines regarding financial information and regulated activities.
5. Manage the preparation and handover of demonstrators and sold vehicles to customers, ensuring that customers are briefed on the operation of the vehicle and its controls, including introducing customers to the aftersales department.
6. Participate in planning sales campaigns and promotions to maximise sales penetration and take part in on and off-site promotions run by the Fleet department.
7. Understand manufacturer mystery shopping criteria and apply this knowledge when dealing with customers.
8. Convey the culture of putting customers first by embodying Citygate Brand Values at all times.

About You
The successful candidate for this Business Development Manager position will ideally possess the following skills and experience:
1. Experience in prospecting in a B2B environment and extensive knowledge of all stages in the new business development process.
2. Confident telephone manner and ability to handle a demanding target-driven environment with excellent communication and sales presentation skills.
3. Strong skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with good presentation and negotiation abilities.
4. Experience in pricing and profitability analysis with the ability to focus, identify, prioritize, quantify, and measure actions.
5. While an automotive industry background would be advantageous, it is not essential as long as the candidate can demonstrate real competence in a new B2B sales environment.
