ABOUT CULTED: CULTED is a Gen-Z multimedia and cross platform entertainment company which launched mid 2019. We produce and publish content daily, at the speed of social media. This covers the latest news and trends from Gen-Z’s forward thinking perspective on fashion, sneakers, beauty, art, music, and youth culture. Our omnichannel approach, combined with the captivating content we produce, have helped us amass a fast-growing international audience of over 2 million users. We are now looking for a skilled and talented London based Director of Photography to join our team on a full-time basis. CORE TASKS & DUTIES: Developing editorial and agency concepts that place Culted at the forefront of visual culture Brainstorming and organising creative concepts for Culted franchises, social channels and client briefs Generating fresh and engaging content ideas around fashion, art and culture and pitching these to the team Taking initiative in scouting, reaching out to, briefing, and maintaining relationships with talent; excellent contacts with photographers and agents and an awareness of ‘what’s next’ in photography and film Acquire images and lead on the best photography to use for Culted’s platforms across social, web and event Lead on Culted’s global fashion week coverage ensuring we’re at the forefront of media imagery Working on brand campaigns from start to finish Manage raw footage and files and edit videos on Adobe Premiere Pro Devising cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion; setting, monitoring, and ensuring projects fall with budgets Managing resources and overseeing finances to ensure that projects progress on time and within budget Managing risks to avoid delays or reputational damage Reviewing client briefs, concepting, and pitching to clients Providing talent, team, and clients with consistent and relevant feedback Creating mood-boards, storyboards, and decks for client and in-house concepts Developing pipelines and ensuring timings are met Monitoring and supporting post-production until asset delivery Ensuring a high level of quality is maintained Realising and visualising concepts for shoots (video and stills) Selecting appropriate creative teams for projects Look for editorial and commercial opportunities at all times Lead, mentor, and inspire younger team members; recruit appropriate candidates and manage teams Manage crew and client expectations whilst on productions Monitor a camera crew and instructs camera operators regarding camera angles and setup, movement, and distances Delegates tasks as appropriate while ensuring a quality that meet’s Culted’s standards THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE: Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in Film, Art or Photography or similar Has proven record of creative direction for editorial and commercial purposes Extensive knowledge of camera equipment and advanced filming techniques Will possess strong awareness of the worlds of fashion, luxury lifestyle, streetwear, and their trends. Will possess strong awareness of emerging designers, creatives and talent Will have thorough understanding of all current social media platforms, especially of interest to Gen-Z such as TikTok and understand how to use these social platforms for commercial purposes Will have a positive and solution-first attitude Will have a creative vision which is malleable to Culted’s image and clients’ needs Will know how to manage individuals and solve issues in a positive manner Will know how to bring the best out of teams and help them progress Is active on social media and aims to grow own network and represent the company at all times Is aware of/has contacts with relevant and on-brand talent and creators Has the ability to understand the importance of brand and visual identity Will be able to protect the brand’s image on social media Is extremely dynamic and eager to learn new skills Has professional mannerisms to deal with talent, clients, vendors and contractors SKILLS: Able to work in an extremely fast-paced environment under high pressure Can make critical decisions regarding budgets, targets, etc. Can manage resources and oversee finances to ensure that the project progress is on time and budget Reviews regular progress reports and ensure they’re met Make staffing, financial, or other adjustments to align the developing project with broader outcome goals Liaising with clients and building strong working relationships Able to adapt editing and writing style for different purposes Outstanding skills in Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe, Premiere Pro, etc. Outstanding organisational skills Confidence in taking control of a creative project Able to take initiative and pitch original ideas Well-developed time management skills Creative and innovative thinker Well developed project management and art direction skills This role will be based full time from CULTED’s office. You will be required to attend productions, events and work trips.
