We’re looking to recruit an Empty Homes Officer to work within the Council’s Housing Improvement Team. Supported by their Private Sector Housing Team colleagues, they will coordinate work undertaken by the Council to bring empty homes back into use. This may include providing advice and information to homeowners, facilitating grants and loans (such as those provided by Kent County Council’s ‘No Use Empty’ scheme), and enforcement action where necessary. The successful candidate will have a good standard of education and recent experience of working in a housing or enforcement type role. They will be self-motivated, a good negotiator and have a keen interest and determination to bring empty homes back into use. This is a fixed-term position for a period of two years. For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Jason Wheble, Housing Improvement Manager on 01732 876261
