We are currently in a position to welcome a new Health and Safety Manager to the Cousins team, ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across all our operations.
THE ROLE OF THE HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER:
The role will see you working both on site and in our head office in Rochester, reporting to our Health and Safety Director. The primary responsibilities will include:
* Providing guidance and on-site support to planned works, reactive works, projects, and Electrical engineers, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental legislation, client requirements, and company policies, including RAMS.
* Identifying problems or opportunities on site and taking a proactive approach to problem solving (Audit Site, help prepare Construction Phase Plans (CPP) / Site documents).
* Promoting a positive health, safety, and environmental culture on site and in the office/yard/warehouse.
* Supporting our projects team and surveyors with technical aspects of health and safety requirements on large scale jobs.
* Writing and reviewing all high-level RAMS.
* Collaborating with our Directors and Managers on all Health and Safety Quality compliance and environmental matters.
* Assisting in the management of ISO9001, 14001, and 45001, ensuring non-compliances are addressed and new accreditation obtained/current standards are met.
* Investigating, recording, and reporting accidents and near misses.
* Creating and reviewing new policies as required to suit the needs of the business.
Minimum Qualifications:
To be considered for the position, it would be desirable to have:
* NEBOSH (General and Construction)
* IOSH Accredited (Technical IOSH)
* APS accreditation for CDM and principal contractor
* Experience in the audit and/or accreditation process of ISO.
* Experience in the Construction, Facilities Management, or Facilities Provider industries.
* Knowledge of ISO 14001, ISO9001, and ISO45001.
* Knowledge of safety contractor, Construction Line, CHAS.
* Assisting and monitoring PQQ Process/PPE/Training/Fire alarm testing/Asbestos register/Inductions.
* Reviewing and developing COSHH/RAMS/CPPs/Toolbox talks.
* Updating and maintaining health and Safety Manuals/Equipment registers.
* Maintaining HAV (Vibration) Register.
* Experience with environmental matters (i.e., Business carbon footprint).
