The System Accountant will play a leading role within the finance team responsible for the implementation and deployment of finance and integrated systems, primarily Oracle NetSuite. This will include identifying business requirements, process and scenario design, testing, training, and leading work streams. The role is office-based with travel to other sites each week.
Key responsibilities for the role will include:
1. Manage the Finance system structures, work streams, users, and integration into associated business systems. Being a key partner to the IT/technology team on upgrades, rollouts, and testing.
2. Own master data controls ensuring system compliance where necessary.
3. Identify and escalate possible risk areas and enhance controls where necessary.
4. Provide training and support, particularly to non-finance teams.
5. Deliver the day-to-day operation and maintenance of finance systems.
6. Support the processing and control of month-end activities.
7. Assist in defining new processes and evolving finance ways of working while keeping up to date on industry best practices.
8. Partner with the BI analytics team and lead on the maintenance of master data and rollout of the agreed Data Governance requirements across the systems user base.
9. Support the implementation of new systems within Finance or upgrades to existing systems.
10. Maintain documentation of system configurations, customizations, processes, and training materials for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Experience required/desired:
1. Extensive experience/knowledge of Oracle NetSuite.
2. Strong knowledge and experience of working with Power BI / Tableau.
3. Professional finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent.
4. A solid understanding of best practices for finance systems structure.
5. An understanding of financial reporting and compliance.
6. Ambitious and driven as it is fast-paced.
7. Take initiative and the ability to work independently.
8. Team player with pronounced numerical affinity and accuracy.
