The role...
We're looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Group Reporting team on a permanent basis in Manchester. We're happy to offer this role on a hybrid basis, and welcome applications from candidates outside of Manchester.
As Financial Controller, you'll report into the Head of Controllership and will be responsible for the financial integrity of the statutory entities within ITV Studios UK, ensuring all period end and local legal and regulatory deadlines are met. This role will manage the integrity of the balance sheet, P&L and legal entity financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
1. Perform monthly Balance Sheet Reviews supported by the RTR team and regular reviews with the ITV Studios UK FD
2. Ongoing review and development of processes and controls around monthly and annual reporting of ITV Studios legal entities
3. Review the ITV Studios UK Subsidiary Accounts, liaising directly with the RTR team and business teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the legal entities prior to Finance Director review and sign off
4. Work with the Head of Technical Accounting to determine the appropriate accounting driven from changes in accounting standards and/or policy changes and feedback to the business as required
5. Work closely with Business Finance teams on rolling out business change initiatives and advise on implications of updated technical accounting standards (working with Head of Technical Accounting)
6. Ensure all Group policies (including accounting, tax and treasury) and key controls are adhered to; follow up all agreed Internal Audit actions
7. Manage Approval Frameworks in all labels and ensure they are updated regularly
8. Assist Head of Technical Accounting to provide technical accounting expertise to the ITV Studios division, especially in relation to revenue recognition
9. Provide answers to complex statutory accounts, audit and technical queries back to the business
10. Manage ad-hoc activities such as coordination of internal and external audits, and requests from Business Finance Directors and Business Partners
11. Support the other Financial Controllers with workload on an ad-hoc basis
Skills you'll need(minimum criteria)
1. Substantial PQ experience within a Financial Control team
2. ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified accountant, minimum 5 years' PQE
3. Experience in implementing internal policies and procedures and complying with external policies such as regulatory and accounting procedures
4. Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insights, to inform decision making and deliver against key metrics
5. Extensive experience in month-end reporting and strong working knowledge of finance systems
6. Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence decision-making among senior stakeholders

2. Willingness and ability to build and develop strong relationships and partnerships internally and externally
3. Ability to communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner, and to lead discussions with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams
4. Ability to meet rigorous deadlines and to multitask and prioritise responsibilities
