We are a GMS practice with two Partners. We are also a training practice with 4 GP Registrars and medical students.

We are active members of our Primary Care Network and are instrumental in the implementation of many PCN projects that are currently running. As a practice we feel research is extremely important to help future patient care and to this end we are part of the South Warwickshire Research Group and also a Research ready accredited site.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated registered nurse to join our team as our Lead Nurse. Previous practice nurse experience is essential for this position. The ideal candidate should have experience in chronic disease management (particularly respiratory), QOF and Enhanced Service programmes, as well as general nursing duties, managing a team and/or leadership skills. EMIS Clinical Software experience advantageous though not essential as full training will be given. Hours can be negotiable approx 20 - 30 hrs pw. Pay depending on experience.
Job responsibilities
1. To help develop the nursing services offered by the practice.
2. To provide clinical leadership within the nursing team.
3. To ensure the highest standards of care are provided for patients.
4. To manage and develop a clinical acute and chronic case load, dealing with presenting patients' needs in a primary care setting.
5. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
6. To deliver a high standard of patient care using specialist practice Nurse skills.
7. Where necessary evaluate patient test results in conjunction with the patient and their GP and ensure the appropriate course of treatment is initiated.
8. Make appropriate referrals to other members of the primary, community and secondary care teams.
9. Help the practice develop and deliver specialist primary nurse led services including chronic disease management.
10. Administer child and adult immunisations and vaccinations in accordance with national and local programmes.
11. Provide support and chaperoning to the doctors for minor surgery and other procedures.
12. Maintain accurate records according to NMC rules.
13. Ensure all data protection requirements are met when gathering, recording and storing patient data.
14. Liaise and maintain good working relationships with all members of the practice team.
