Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer
Location: North Yorkshire or West Yorkshire or Cumbria
A Principal Mechanical Building Services Engineer is required to join a Building Design Consultancy in North Yorkshire or West Yorkshire or Cumbria. The company is one of the largest multi-discipline building design consultancies in the North of England, offering a broad range of services in Building Surveying, Civil & Structural, Highways and Drainage Engineering, and more.

Role:
1. Work as a member of the Building Services Team to deliver on a variety of projects from industrial buildings to new build homes, schools and refurbishments
2. Produce Mechanical Building Services design calculations using a range of techniques including industry standard software such as Hevacomp and IES
3. Produce feasibility reports, condition surveys, design specifications and drawings suitable for all RIBA work stages
4. Undertake detailed surveys on electrical building services to advise on their suitability for continued use
5. Contract administration and project management
6. Oversee and supervise the installation of building services systems, undertake commissioning management and specify maintenance and operating procedures
7. Carry out project design and complete H&S risk assessments to meet current CDM regulation requirements
Requirements:
1. Degree or HNC in Building Services/ Mechanical Engineering
2. Ideally working towards MCIBSE
3. Good working knowledge of mechanical services
4. Experience with mechanical surveys and condition survey reports
5. Able to produce plans, sections and detailed drawings, specifications, schedules of works and other documents to high standards
6. Experienced and confident in the preparation of decarbonisation/sustainability reports
7. Experienced in supervising and monitoring mechanical installation work on site
8. Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office Suite, Autodesk AutoCAD and NBS software, Revit
9. Knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts
10. A full UK driving license
