Aldermore Group – why we exist
Let us tell you a bit about us
We’re Aldermore – the award-winning bank, trusted and highly rated by over a quarter of a million customers for more than a decade. With our range of specialist mortgages, savings accounts and business finance solutions, we're backing more people to go for it.
We thrive by saying “yes” to our customers. We respect the ingenuity of entrepreneurs and their startups; we give first-timers a leg-up onto the property ladder; we open up the lending market to many; and thousands of customers chose Motonovo Finance every week to buy their next car, van or motorbike.
This is where you come in. We are on a journey. A journey defined by a destination; to deliver on our purpose.
Let us tell you a bit about the opportunity
The Asset & Liability Management (ALM) team is responsible for assessing and monitoring Market Risk, as well as Funds Transfer Pricing (FTP) for the whole group. The management of these risks is centralised within the Group Treasury function and ALM act as the first line control. ALM and Treasury sit in the centre of the Bank and are core to the implementation of Aldermore’s financial strategy. The ALM team is also responsible for the production of market risk sections of the ICAAP and works closely with the regulatory reporting team for all the relevant reports.
The ALM Specialist role is crucial to our operations, particularly in managing Risk. Initially the position will primarily support market risk deliverables, working closely with the rest of the team and other stakeholders. The role involves day-to-day management and monitoring of ALM tasks across both sides of the balance sheet and will also help support key ALM initiatives that contribute to the overall financial stability of the organisation.
This role will be based in our modern London office, however, you will be able to work a blend of both home and office each week. You’ll be made to feel part of your new team by your Line Manager and colleagues through regular contact and virtual interaction. It’s a great team and an exciting area of the Group to work!
What will your day look like?
Supporting the implementation and ongoing development of ALM activities:
* Management of ALM systems used for calculating and reporting risk positions, both internally and externally to Regulators or FIrstRand

* Developing Management Information (MI) and visual analytics using the team’s rich and granular data sources
* Developing strong relationships with business stakeholders
* Ad hoc product funding and pricing support to business lines
Additionally, from time to time you will support other core ALM activities and projects.
What do we expect from you?
Successfully performing the role may require skills gained from a wide range of experiences. Prior experience in a role focusing on ALM, Market Risk, FTP would be desirable, but not essential. Many of the skills required for this role are transferable from other disciplines.

* Experience within Financial Services in a similar role or finance related, preferably at a retail bank/building society
* You need to be strong in communication and manage a wide range of stakeholders
* Strong attention to detail, pro-active, can-do attitude and a team player

* A growing organisation that means there’s lots of opportunities to progress
* A drive for continuous improvement, which you will be empowered to get behind from day one.
* And of course, you will be rewarded competitively, with a good range of core benefits and bonus potential.
