The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Business Intelligence Service. The Business Intelligence Service is responsible for providing information, data and analysis across the whole council. This role will be specifically around our Education system Capita.
As part of a small team dealing with primarily Education and SEND data, you will assist with the collation, analysis, production and presentation of management information and activities to improve the quality of data feeding into that analysis. You will use a variety of tools, including Excel and Capita reports. You will also liaise with schools and other settings to help improve the quality of data they provide to us, whether this is through direct conversations with schools or directly from their systems into our via B2B (Base to Base) link. The work you carry out will feed-into and underpin statutory returns and management reports to senior managers. It is key to support us in improving outcomes for children and families.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintain and update information systems and databases
* Provide a wide and varied range of administrative tasks to assigned projects ensuring written reports are compiled, support is provided, and records are accurate which will help to inform decision making.
* Contribute towards statutory data collections
* Develop ways to improve data accuracy and quality
* Respond to Freedom of Information Requests and any other adhoc requests for information, data and analysis
About You
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about data, excellent eye for detail and who possesses the following skills and experience:
Essential Criteria:
* You will have experience of working in a similar environment or within a similar role with translatable skills.
* You will have effective IT (especially Excel) and numeracy skills including the ability to accurately update information systems and databases.
* You will have good communication skills and be able to work as part of a team
Desirable Criteria:
* Knowledge of Education and or SEND
* Experience of using Capita
