The Role
As a Senior Buyer, you'll play a pivotal role in sourcing critical materials and components, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring that our procurement strategy supports our operational goals. Working closely with production, engineering, and planning teams, you'll ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality supply for our product ranges.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the procurement of direct materials for manufacturing
* Develop strategic supplier partnerships to ensure best value, quality, and on-time delivery
* Negotiate pricing, contracts, and supplier agreements
* Support new product introductions by managing procurement for project timelines
* Analyse data and market trends to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities
* Champion supplier performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Collaborate cross-functionally with production, quality, engineering, and planning teams
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the supply base and internal processes

What We’re Looking for:
* Proven experience in a Senior Buyer or Procurement role within a manufacturing or automotive environment, with UK based expertise
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, and contract management
* Excellent understanding of supply chain principles and cost analysis
* SAP or ERP systems experience preferred
* Excellent communication, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management
* MCIPS or CIPS level 4 qualified as a minimum
* Strong background in ethical sourcing, electrical and gas components, injection mouldings, die casting, plastic, as well as raw materials (stainless and mild steel).
* A positive and collaborative mindset with the ability to work across departments and with external partners
* Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
