The Phoenix Family Practice is looking for a bright and focused individual to review clinical correspondence coming into the practice, summarise and assess action needs.
Main duties of the job
This role will involve use of a clinical system (EMIS Web) and a document database (Docman 10).
You will be reviewing incoming patient correspondence (clinic letters from hospital, letters from patients and other care providers or organisations) and summarising them from an extensive list of codes.
You will be assessing if work does not require action, identifying new diagnoses and succinctly reflecting the content of all documents for a GP to review.
This work will also consider the patient's dignity, confidentiality and highlight concerns over safeguarding when needed.

Job responsibilities
1. Reading and comprehending incoming medical correspondence (all forms of letters about a patient's health or care).
2. Accurately summarising the correspondence using free text and a database of medical terms (SNOMED CT) and committing this to the patient's medical record.
3. Briefly assessing the correspondence against the patient's medical record, using EMIS Web and Docman 10.
4. Safely identifying non-actionable correspondence and appropriately forwarding on all other documents to our medical team.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
* Educated to an A Level/NVQ Level 3.
* ICD 10 Accreditation.
Experience
* Previous experience in a detail-oriented administrative role.
* Experience in a health or care setting.
* Use of EMIS Web.
* Use of Docman 10.
* Knowledge of SNOMED CT / ICD10.

Depending on experience £13.50 - £14.50 per hour.
