This position provides extensive oversight and management of all elements of business for the assigned teams/sectors, including resourcing, product development, methodology/compliance and day-to-day product delivery and operations. The Editorial Manager is responsible for enforcing best practices and maintaining compliance with IOSCO’s Principles for Oil Price Reporting Agencies and will support editors in their engagement with the market, market price formation, news coverage and analysis. The role will also help identify and develop top talent and will serve as a crisis manager when emergencies arise. Key Responsibilities Manage day-to-day operations within a commodities sector, ensuring successful production of all content Maintain quality of market price assessments and adhere to rigorous compliance standards Liaise with other senior editorial management, executives and Compliance staff to ensure continuity of messaging and best practices Ensure adequate staffing and resourcing of teams, supporting and guiding recruitment processes to secure top talent including supporting the Graduate Training Programme Help coordinate and support market engagement by editors and reporters, liaising with business development as needed Provide direction and feedback regarding commentaries, news and analysis, as well as write and edit copy as needed Help direct, write and edit market commentaries, news, analysis and market outlooks. Foster and enable communication within the Editorial group as well as other regions and departments Work closely with Sector Heads to ensure business priorities are met Contribute to presentations as directed by management; give presentations to clients and at industry events. Ensure coverage of relevant conferences and events, attending in person as required. Oversee compliance-related responsibilities, including: Coordinate all changes to methodology and prices (updates, deletions, additions) Ensure methodolog ies and market-reporting practices meet IOSCO regulations and Argus best practices Attend internal and external audits/interviews with teams Approve price-reporting corrections Monitor expenses Mentor and develop top future talent Support Editors with performance improvement plans and disciplinary matters C oordinate and/or deliver training as needed Ensure team business continuity plans are maintained Coordinate and provide feedback to editors for annual and midyear reviews and salary considerations Other special projects as needed. S kills and E xperience Educated to bachelor’s degree from a leading university Previous experience as an Editor in the commodities space, recruiting, training, motivating and managing a team Deep experience in at least one commodity with the ability to transfer knowledge across multiple markets Self-motivation and initiative to drive projects forward with the ability to meet tight deadlines Proven leadership skills Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver difficult messages Strong networking ability to collaborate across different departments Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Earlier or later hours, or weekend hours, may be expected on occasion. Travel 5-10% is expected for this position.
