The team:
The Octopus Investments retail sales team are a highly regarded, high-performance team and the driving force behind Octopus Investments’ success. As an External Business Development Manager (EBDM), you would be joining this team to educate and sell to a network of IFAs, driving sales into our investment products.
We believe in delivering a brilliant journey for all our customers, and this role will include contributing to positive customer outcomes as part of the broader sales and customer team.
What will you be doing?
The successful candidate will:
1. Run a regional sales strategy including retaining, growing, and developing relationships with a network of Financial Advisers and Private Banks to maximise sales opportunities for the Octopus Investments product range. This will be done through face-to-face meetings, events, and presentations.
2. Work with Internal Business Development Managers to create and deliver a regional business plan to ensure your region's strategic directions are met by developing pipeline and closing opportunities.
3. Able to understand a complex suite of solutions and communicate them effectively to Financial Advisers.
4. Communicate and work effectively with Fund Managers and Business Line Managers to ensure products and messaging are aligned with the customer.
5. Customer obsessed - Always acting with the customer's best interest in mind.
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have:
* Proven experience of high-quality delivery in a business development role, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
* Proven results delivering growth through existing relationships, as well as the ability to attract and cement new business relationships.
* High-quality interpersonal skills which emanate honesty and integrity.
* A clear, concise, and articulate communication style, with an ability to be influential.
* Drive, ambition, and self-motivation.
