An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Social Work Assistant to join the Adult Services – Social Work Team, Argyll and Bute HSCP. There are 5 posts available in various locations across the region, as follows:
1. Kintrye, Islay and Jura (Campeltown) – 1
2. Mid Argyll (Lochgilphead) – 0.8wte
3. Oban, Lorn and Isles (Oban) – 1wte
4. Cowal and Bute – (Dunoon/Rothesay) – 0.8wte
5. Bute (Rothesay) – 0.5wte
These posts are offered on a temporary basis for 12 months, from the point of commencing in post. Available hours are detailed above. The post holder will be part of a small task and finish team, which will primarily focus on care reviews, but will ultimately be part of a fully integrated adult social care service. Ability and willingness to travel independently is essential.
The post is interesting and varied and we are seeking an individual who can work autonomously but also effectively as part of a team.
Case work will be generic in nature, interesting and varied. Duties include statutory work appropriate to the role, person centred outcome focused assessments, reviews, dealing with and managing a wide variety of situations and issues, and working effectively in a multi-disciplinary way.
