Job summary Job Advert: Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Job Summary: Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated Consultant in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry to join our team at Chalkhill, providing psychiatric input to Children & Young People's Services in an inpatient setting. This role is essential in delivering high-quality care to young people aged 13-18 years as part of the acute psychiatric (Tier 4) team. The role will be based in Haywards Heath, Chalkhill which is one of the country's leading hospitals for treating children and young people with serious mental health problems and eating disorders. You will work as part of a friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team which includes psychiatrists, nurses, psychologists, systemic family therapy and social work. This post will work alongside other Consultants and Specialty Doctors who work in Sussex ChYPS. You will also be part of a Trust wide consultant network where there are opportunities to liaise with colleagues in other posts throughout the Trust and develop peer networks. You will also see consultant peers at regular division meetings in the locality and at clinical governance meetings. Main duties of the job Provide clinical leadership and specialist assessment for young people in the inpatient unit. Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and formulate treatment plans. Lead multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings, offering expert advice and guidance. Supervise junior medical staff, including training and mentorship.
