We are looking to recruit experienced, part-time receptionists (maximum 30 hours per week) for the Emergency Department at The Northumbria Hospital in Cramlington covering a 24 hr service, 365 days of the year.
The job involves working a variety of shifts to cover the 24 hour period including 0800-2130 days and night-shifts 2000-0800

The role involves a wide variety of tasks including meeting and greeting patients and relatives on arrival to the hospital, answering telephone
enquiries, recording attendances to A&E on a computerised system (PAS data entry) and scanning A&E documents.
We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate. To provide an efficient administration and clerical service to unit staff, visitors and patients for emergency attenders, soft tissue and associated
out-patient clinics.
To provide a reception service, acting as first point of contact on the telephone or face to face, for patients, visitors and other healthcare
professionals.
To facilitate good communication with other wards and departments involved in patient care or ward/departmental functioning.
