Exciting opportunity for a Skilled Mechanical Fitter
As a Skilled Mechanical Fitter, you will be primarily supporting the Field Service Team to install/commission LNG stations within the UK. In addition, you will also support mechanical repair, service, and overhaul of rotating plant in the Chesterfield Service Centre, as and when required, with the need to occasionally travel to customer sites of Howden in the UK to support as necessary.

What Needs To Be Done?
1. Ensure adherence to company environmental, health, and safety standards in compliance with company policies to ensure a safe working environment and the minimization of environmental impact.
2. Strict adherence to Health and Safety JSA's & risk assessments, strictly following Howden and customer Health and Safety policies.
3. Involvement in all activities for the routine service, repair, overhaul & occasionally installation of rotating equipment in compliance with company standards and requirements.
4. Communicate with project managers, workshop staff, and clients to control activities and provide technical support pertinent to service/repair/overhaul/installation.
5. Prepare and issue all documentation relative to processing of activities – daily reports, visit reports, communications, time-sheets, and associated documents.
6. Carry out analysis of machinery and provide condition reports with the aim of driving additional business through service upgrades/spare parts requirements etc.
7. Interact and respond to all aspects of the business, supporting SHE, efficiency, delivery, and quality improvements.
What Do You Need To Bring?
Essential skills, knowledge & behaviours
1. Recognised engineering apprenticeship.
2. Level 3 Qualification in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience.
3. Hands-on experience of working in a mechanical/industrial environment.
4. Time Management.
5. Ability to self-manage.
6. Full clean driving license.
7. Willing to travel within the UK and occasionally worldwide.
8. HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or relevant experience gained through working as a multi-skilled service engineer.
9. Knowledge of Electrical systems and Programmable Logic Controllers and applications.
10. Control and Instrumentation.
