Salary: Trainee Engineer (Minimum wage – age related/salary will increase dependent on how quickly progress)
Location: Leeds & Surrounding Areas
Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week, Monday – Friday
Full UK Driving Licence is required for both roles.

Role & Requirements:
(Experienced Engineer Role)
The company is looking to recruit an experienced Security Engineer with at least 2 to 3 years’ experience in the installation of intruder alarms and CCTV systems. They are a family-run business with 20 years’ experience within the security industry and are looking for a keen, hardworking individual to join their team.
Working to SSAIB Grade 2 standard, the ideal candidate must be able to show a varied proficiency in security installation/servicing/fault finding. Experience in CCTV installation, networking, or electronics would be useful but not essential as training will be given.
The ideal candidate will be working in domestic properties and small commercial premises in and around Leeds and surrounding areas.
1. Experience in all makes of intruder panels, good working knowledge of Risco systems would be advantageous.
2. Knowledge of both wired and wireless intruder systems and WIFI networks.
3. Knowledge of all types of CCTV systems and IP networks.
4. Experience in maintaining and repairing intruder alarms and CCTV systems.
5. Must be able to work closely with customers.
6. Ability to work on your own initiative and within a team.
7. Experience of running CAT5/6.
8. Computer literate.
9. Must be able to work at heights.
(Trainee Engineer Role)
As a Trainee Alarm & CCTV Engineer, you will be responsible for learning to install, repair, and maintain security systems to include burglar alarm and CCTV systems in domestic, commercial, and industrial settings. This includes wiring, programming, and testing the alarm system, as well as troubleshooting and repairing any faults. You will work under the supervision of experienced engineers and receive on-the-job training to develop your skills and knowledge in the field until the time you are ready to go out on your own.
The Trainee Security Engineer is also responsible for ensuring that the alarm systems are in compliance with the relevant safety regulations and SSAIB standards. Other duties include providing advice and assistance to customers on the operation and maintenance of their alarm and CCTV systems, as well as responding to emergency call-outs once trained.
1. Assist senior engineers in the installation of alarm and CCTV systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings.
2. Learn to program and configure alarm panels, PIRs, shocks, and other components according to specifications.
3. Participate in routine maintenance tasks such as testing, inspecting, and servicing alarm systems to ensure they are functioning adequately.
4. Troubleshoot issues with alarm and CCTV systems and perform necessary repairs or replacements of faulty components.
5. Provide excellent customer service by addressing client enquiries and concerns, professionally and promptly.
6. Provide technical support to customers.
7. Competent use of ladders scaling 20 feet or more.
8. On-call rota – every 1 in 3 weeks once fully trained.
Trainee Candidate Requirements:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or certificates are an advantage.
2. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand and power tools.
3. Ability to work at heights.
4. Basic understanding of electrical systems and wiring.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Good communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
8. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and techniques.
9. Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
10. Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
11. Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and procedures.
