Northumberland Care Academy
Northumberland Care Academy is a newly formed team to provide workforce support to the adult social care sector including recruitment and retention, as well as quality accessible training with the view to build a workforce future proofed for complex care demands and demographic change.
The Northumberland Care Academy sits within the council's contracts and commissioning team which comprises of around 30 employees. This team works closely with our adult social care services to ensure they provide quality, value for money for our Northumberland residents across the county. They work with stakeholders such as CQC and safeguarding to ensure safety and quality is met within the sector.
The Role
We are looking to recruit a Project Support Officer to work alongside the academy manager to develop and prioritise the scope of the academy working with key stakeholders including social care, health, education and voluntary sectors to achieve this.
This is an exciting new role which can be shaped by the individual and care academy manager as the project develops. Working closely with the manager on a variety of work streams, you will have the opportunity to develop this new workforce team and help raise the profile of adult social care within Northumberland.
One primary focus of the role will be to develop a digital footprint for the academy, to use social media channels effectively to promote not only events and training but the academy and social care sector itself. This will involve utilizing the council's own website to have an academy presence.
The project support officer will deputise for the academy manager and support with reports and presentations as required for the team.
The role will involve collaborative working with key partners particularly our regulatory body CQC and safeguarding teams. There will be a need to understand legislation and guidance pertinent to the sector, but support and training will be offered to the postholder to acquire this knowledge as ongoing.
This is a challenging role which requires the ability to focus on a variety of projects and to coordinate effectively with the need to adapt and to prioritise continually.
You will need to practice inside the values of Northumberland County Council putting people first, promoting respect, delivering excellence and supporting resilience with a focus on achieving best value for money.
We are hoping to recruit an enthusiastic, positive person to the role who can communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders and staff whilst being professional at all times. Being able to use your own initiative and work independently, prioritising and arranging your own workload within the parameters and scope of the project is essential whilst having the opportunity to put forward your own ideas and interests will be encouraged.
County Hall, Morpeth will serve as a base although visits and events across the county will form a large part of the daily role. There is opportunity to have some home working also. The role is permanent and full time.
