Job Description Make your mark as a ROV Manager in the Remote Technology Group, for Boskalis Subsea Services located in Aberdeen. The ROV Manager will be responsible for overseeing the operation, maintenance, and deployment of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs). This role involves managing a team of ROV technicians and pilots to ensure the successful execution of underwater projects. The ROV Manager will work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that all ROV operations are conducted safely, efficiently and in compliance with company policies and industry standards. Additionally, the ROV Manager will support and coordinate remote ROV operations in our Remote Operations Centre (ROC). Your responsibilities as ROV Manager (Onshore): The main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Operational Management: Plan, coordinate, and oversee ROV operations for various underwater projects. Ensure that ROV systems are properly maintained, calibrated, and ready for deployment. Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ROV operations. Monitor ROV performance and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise during operations. Remote Operations Centre (ROC) Management: Support and Coordinate the operations of the Remote Operations Centre, ensuring seamless coordination and support for remote ROV missions. Implement and maintain communication protocols between the ROC and field teams. Monitor and manage real-time data and video feeds from remote ROV operations. Provide technical support and guidance to remote ROV pilots and technicians. Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of ROV technicians and pilots. Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of the ROV team. Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members and monitor their performance. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all ROV operations comply with safety regulations and industry standards. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards. Maintain accurate records of ROV operations, maintenance, and safety inspections. Stakeholder Interaction: Liaise with internal stakeholders to understand the project requirements and provide technical expertise. Prepare and deliver reports on ROV operations and project progress to Project Manager and stakeholders. Address any concerns or issues related to ROV operations. Budget and Resource Management: Manage the budget for ROV operations, including procurement of equipment and spare parts. Optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations. Monitor expenses and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Competence Assessment and Verification: Act as an internal technical verifier within the Competence Management Scheme for ROV positions under the scope of IMCA Competence Frameworks. Liaise with the C&T Department to support the process for competence assessment for ROV technical personnel in alignment with IMCA C005 (Competence Assurance Guidance - Remote Systems & ROV Division) and IMCA R006 (Guidelines for the Safe Operation of ROVs). Provide support and ensure adherence to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies for ongoing competence validation.
