We have a fabulous opportunity to join our science team. Our Lady’s is a successful and growing comprehensive Catholic 11-18 school. We are extremely proud of our reputation and our dedication in teaching our students to ‘aspire not to have more but to be more’.
We have an excellent history of securing superb outcomes for our students at KS5 and would like to appoint a new member of the department who can contribute to our successful, experienced and supportive science team.
•Are you a well-qualified, dedicated and enthusiastic science teacher?
•Would you like to join to our successful, experienced and supportive science team?
•Can you contribute to teaching across the age and ability range up to A-level?
•Can you use your specialism to enhance our already strong science provision?
The science department currently consists of twelve teachers, a number of whom also hold other positions of responsibility in other areas within in school, and three technicians. The department is well-resourced and enjoys suited accommodation; consisting of seven labs with SMART boards, a number of prep rooms and workspaces.
Through strong collaboration and individual motivation, we contribute to our shared vision of nurturing a sense of awe and wonder in our students. As a team, we continually strive to improve students’ learning experience by sharing good practice and improving our schemes of learning to engage and challenge all students from their individual starting points. We aim to enable them to master key concepts and apply skills to solve problems in unfamiliar situations. We enrich and extend learning and a love of science through a range of opportunities, both in and out of school.
•Our continued drive helps students make excellent progress in science, leading to high uptake and superb outcomes at KS5.
•We teach Edexcel Separate and Combined Science GCSE to cater to the wide ability of our students, and enter them for the most appropriate tier within those options.
•At KS5 we offer AQA Biology and Physics, OCR Chemistry and Pearson BTEC National in Applied Science.
•A large number of students follow career pathways that use their KS5 science qualifications.
