A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for 0.8 WTE Band 6 CNS to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team. This role will establish you as a key member of the NHS England commissioned 'Highly Specialised Childhood Osteogenesis Imperfecta' (HSCOI) multidisciplinary team, which provides specialist care to children with Osteogenesis Imperfecta (O.I.) within the Southwest of England. Prior exposure to patients with endocrine, O.I. and other endocrine bone conditions is desirable but not essential.
Our patient cohort can require specialist diagnostic tests, therapeutic treatments, and regular monitoring. The post holder will be part of a team of specialist nurses who provide specialist nursing care, education, and advice to both parents/carers and other stakeholders. You will be expected to work with a multitude of professionals and be confident in communicating on a wide range of levels.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is often the first point of contact for enquiries from patients, relatives, and other professionals.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will need to work within a team but also to work without supervision, using their own initiative, demonstrating problem-solving and excellent organisational skills. There will be an expectation to provide education and support in the community, therefore the successful applicant will need to have a full driving license. You must be able to work flexibly and provide a safe, friendly, and efficient service while being conscious of the need to cover the fixed clinical commitments.

* Current NMC Registration
* 1st Degree in nursing or health-related subject
* Relevant accredited post registration at level 3
* Qualification in Teaching and Assessing

* Proven commitment and experience, evidenced in teaching
* Experience as preceptor / mentor
* Experience of undertaking research or audit projects
