What you’ll be doing:
* Working as part of an Integrated Development Team,established to develop and deliver submarine systems /capability
Specifically focusing onensuring that Product Safety tasking and activities are completedacross multiple systems in support of project milestones throughall stages of Engineering Life Cycle Management Supporting HazardIdentification and Analysisstudies Assisting with or generatingsafety reports
* Ensuring the Integrated Development Team operates withinthe project Safety ManagementSystem
Liaising with other IntegratedDevelopment Teams and the Whole Boat SafetyTeam
Your skills andexperiences:
* Obtained or predicted 2:2 in a Bachelor’s or Master’sEngineering degree
* Anunderstanding of ‘Safety and Systems Engineering’ and of the‘Engineering Life CycleManagement’
Experience working anddelivering tasks as part of team, but also capable of working anddelivering tasksunsupervised The ability to be agile inworking practices and customerexpectations Self-motivated, with goodverbal and written communicationskills Practical experience as aProduct Safety Engineer in the maritime defence sector ispreferable, although experience in other sectors will beconsidered

BAESystems Submarines is experiencing a period of significant growth,and we are now actively recruiting a variety of roles andspecialisms to support our ongoing submarines programs which iscritical to delivering our national endeavour. If you are interested inunderstanding how submarines operate and how the Royal Navy operatethe submarines, then this role is for you. As a Product SafetyEngineer, you will assist System Engineers in influencing submarinesystems and capability development. You will develop anunderstanding of how submarine systems work and work together andensure that the system of system interactions considers ProductSafety appropriately.
The role will provide theopportunity to be involved in all aspects of safety management andsafety case delivery.This includes safety requirements capture andmanagement, hazard identification and analysis, hazard datamanagement, application of the ALARP principle,creation/maintenance of safety documentation and continuousimprovement of the safety management system. The role provides areal opportunity to gain a broad overview of a complex system (i.e.submarine). We offer relocation support packages across allSubmarines roles, subject to meeting eligibilitycriteria.
