Senior NOC Engineer - Edinburgh (HYBRID) - Circa. £55,000 + BONUS
Lorien is working closely with a leading telecoms company in their search for their new Senior NOC Engineer to join the team and work in an evolving expanding organisation that has doubled in size over the last year. You will be a Senior part of the technology team's monitoring and administration of the company's core network, ensuring that faults and issues are handled through to completion.
The role operates through a hybrid model, stationed out of their Edinburgh office (3 days in, 2 days WFH), with access to the latest tech.
The position:
You will be the Senior member of the team responsible for completing configuration and software updates in accordance with scheduled BAU network activities, contributing positively to proactive network maintenance and upkeep. You will manage customer fault escalations from the first line customer care team through to resolution in a timely and professional manner.
Responsibilities:
1. Perform 2nd and 3rd Line technical support, providing customer assistance and collaborating with other teams.
2. Daily network and performance tracking.
3. Hardware troubleshooting and repair; fault analysis.
4. Implement and maintain technologies for network analysis, reporting, and monitoring.
5. Utilise change control procedures to apply configuration modifications and software updates.
6. Produce and retain data integrity and network documentation.
7. Manage significant incidents impacting customers within the infrastructure and network.
8. Assure dependable and stable network services (core networks, access products, service networks, etc.).
About you:
1. JNCIA certified.
2. Previous technical knowledge of Juniper and Adtran (within a Telecoms environment).
3. Strong knowledge of IT Protocols (ICMP, UDP, TCP); IP filtering and Firewalling; Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS); MPLS; Ethernet.
4. Experience within an ISP or Telecoms environment. Experience with Cisco or CCNA certification is beneficial.
Package:
The position pays circa £55,000 per annum, with up to a 10% bonus included, and further benefits to discuss.
