Responsibilities:
* Deliver ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) outreach tutoring to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in the East of England, specifically in Tilbury, Essex.
* Plan and implement engaging and effective lessons tailored to the needs of UASC students.
* Provide individualised support to help UASC students improve their English language skills and integrate into the community.
* Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and guidance for improvement.
* Collaborate with other education professionals and social workers to support the holistic development of UASC students.
Minimum Requirements:
* Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, CertTESOL, CELTA) with a focus on ESOL.
* Bachelor's degree in Education, TESOL, or a related field.
* Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching ESOL to diverse student groups.
* Experience working with UASC or vulnerable youth populations.
* Knowledge of the UK education system and safeguarding procedures.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the needs of individual students.
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
* Additional training in working with refugee and asylum-seeking populations.
* Experience in developing and delivering outreach programmes.
Additional Information:
* Part-time role, expected to work flexible hours.
* Work primarily in community settings, such as schools, community centres, or homes.
* May involve travel within the East of England region to reach UASC students.
