Job Description:
What will you do?
Our Responsible Sourcing team is a global group of experts on environmental and human rights issues in agricultural and forestry supply chain. We work with companies such as Nestlé, PepsiCo, Mars, Unilever, and Cargill on their commodity supply chains including palm oil, sugar, soy, coconut, beef, and cocoa.
You will lead on multiple projects with our clients to deliver meaningful environmental and social positive outcomes in their supply chain and production base. For each project, you will manage a global team of experts and be working on a wide range of topics such as strategy and action planning, traceability, environmental and social risks mitigation, suppliers engagement, collaboration, landscape initiatives across Nature, People and Climate.
You’ll be tasked with leading strategic thinking, considering how best to achieve impact and translate this into a feasible workplan. You’ll be expected to identify issues and propose solutions, overseeing the delivery and ensuring consistency of our work. Whilst doing this you’ll develop and maintain meaningful relationships with clients and influence long term change.

Essential:
* Knowledge and understanding of social and environmental issues in agricultural supply chains such as deforestation, regenerative agriculture, climate change, livelihoods, gender equality, and respect for human rights.
* A master’s level qualification (or above) in social/environmental/agriculture/forestry.
* Significant professional experience in a similar consultancy or private sector role working in, or closely with, large corporate buyers and international agricultural commodity supply chains.
* A track record in project delivery in tropical agricultural and/or forestry supply chains, managing small teams to achieve specific goals.
* You have experience in leading interactions with food/FMCG clients and delivering reports and presentations to a range of different audiences.
* Experience of operating in a multi-cultural environment with experience outside of your home country.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain deep stakeholder relationships.
Desirable:
* Advanced proficiency in written and spoken English. Knowledge of Spanish, French, Portuguese, Bahasa, or Mandarin.
* Experience working with teams in the regions in which Proforest operates.
* On-the-ground fieldwork experience with the commodities we work with.
* Line management experience.

Key information
Location: Oxford, UK or Leiden, The Netherlands
Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 or €51,000 - €57,000 depending on skills and experience.
Requires eligibility to work in EU when applying to the Leiden office.
