Specialist Occupational Therapist x 2
Location: Inscape House School– Cheadle, Stockport
Salary: £37,802.00 pro-rated based on hours and weeks worked (full-time equivalent is £41,490)
Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Term Time only (41 weeks)
We are looking to appoint two Specialist Occupational Therapists to join our Therapy team at Inscape House School. Inscape House School is one of our specialist schools in Cheadle, meeting the needs of children and young people aged 5 to 19 years with autism spectrum conditions and related social communication difficulties.
About the Role:
Working under the guidance of an occupational therapy team lead, you will assess young people's needs, develop therapy programmes with student involvement, and measure and report on progress.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct specialist Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions, monitoring, evaluating, and modifying treatment to ensure clinical effectiveness.
* Manage a caseload across Inscape House School and Outreach Services, working flexibly and collaboratively to meet pupil/student and service needs.
* Provide specialist advice and consultation to children, young people, their families, and carers within schools.
* Identify appropriate targets for pupils' and students' meeting the needs of the educational healthcare plan in collaboration with teaching and other staff.
* Plan, undertake, and participate in teaching and education sessions for staff, parents, and carers to share specialist clinical knowledge.
* Provide clinical supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants as well as Occupational Therapists.
* Provide assessment reports and treatment plans for individual pupils/students.
* Participate in relevant education/training opportunities, maintaining a personal CPD portfolio to meet HCPC registration requirements.
* Attend staff meetings, supervision, training, and annual reviews.
About You:
* Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).
* Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
* Experience working in a range of clinical settings using standardised and non-standardised assessments.
* Experience working in special schools with knowledge of Autism Spectrum Conditions.
* Evidence of continued professional development and experience working with children and adults who present with challenging behaviour.
* Ability to develop professional therapeutic relationships while working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
* Ability to relate well to parents and carers and remain calm in stressful and emotional situations.
* Commitment to equality and diversity.
* Ability to work independently using own initiative, manage own caseload, and work autonomously.
