Carbon60 have an exciting opportunity to join one of the UK's largest independent, family-owned companies who manufacture organic chemicals and rubber accelerators as Chemical Waste Manager. The role will include managing the waste processes, ensuring that all waste disposal adheres to strict guidelines, legislation and regulations whilst implementing cost effective budgeting. The ideal candidate will have worked in a waste management or chemical industrial environment, have a knowledge of working to Duty of Care Regulations and be able to communicate across all levels of the business. Job Description: Chemical Waste management for a large chemical manufacturer based in West Brom/West Midlands. Ensure all waste is stored, managed and disposed of in accordance with UK legislation, EA requirements, Dangerous Goods Transport and Duty of Care regulations. Liaise with Quality Control and Research & Development with regards to waste streams, cost effective solutions and waste reduction processes. Communicate effectively with multiple departments at all levels, prioritising workload demands Continually review processes to ensure total compliance with regulations Skills and Qualifications: BSc Chemistry Degree educated or equivalent Knowledge of Duty of Care Regulations Experience working in a waste management or chemical industry environment Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint to a high standard Desirable skills: CIWM (Chartered Institute of Waste Management) endorsed qualifications and/ or working towards chartered status Membership of WAMITAB (Waste Management Industry Training & Advisory Board) Pay and Benefits Salary dependant on experience.
