Job Summary
We are seeking a trainee IWI installer to join our team.
The salary for this role is inline with government guidelines and is age appropriate.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for removing existing fittings such as skirting boards, curtain rails, and radiators, installing various IWI systems which will be agreed in advance, applying traditional wet plaster, and refitting skirtings, radiators, etc., to ensure energy efficiency and comfort of the homeowner or resident.
It is an advantage if you have a fair to good understanding of building materials and methods, as well as the ability to work with various tools and equipment. Please highlight any skills you have in either a DIY or past experience job role as this information will help in the selection process, as we are looking for various levels of experience in this recruitment process.
Day to Day Tasks include:
1. Installing insulation in walls (some ceilings) using appropriate materials and techniques.
2. Fabricate insulation components as needed to fit specific areas.
3. Use power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and installing insulation materials.
4. Board and plaster surfaces as necessary to prepare for decoration.
5. Build scaffolding or other support structures when required for high or difficult-to-reach areas.
6. Ensure all work is completed in a tidy manner; good housekeeping is a key element while working in occupied properties.
7. Clean and organise tools on a regular basis.
Experience
1. A general understanding of the construction industry is preferred.
2. Familiarity with plumbing or plastering techniques is an advantage.
3. Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools equipment is desirable.
4. Ability to read a tape measure and transfer measurements accurately is preferred.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail are required for successful project completion.
