Job Purpose: To provide a cleaning service for the school, unlock or lock and secure the school as required, maintain stock levels of cleaning materials, and supervise a team of cleaners.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supervise the team of cleaners ensuring a high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the school.
2. Maintain the effective running of the team and follow Health & Safety guidelines.
3. Allocate areas to be covered in conjunction with the Head Teacher/Premises and Compliance Manager.
4. In the absence of a cleaner, re-designate and prioritize areas for cleaning daily.
5. Communicate decisions with the Head Teacher and Premises and Compliance Manager.
6. Maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies and complete purchase requisitions as per the ELAT Staff Ordering Process.
7. Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in compliance with the ELAT Child Protection Policy and Procedures.
8. Liaise with site staff, Premises and Compliance Manager, and line managers as required.
9. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene in own designated area.
10. Perform cleaning duties including washing, sweeping, vacuum cleaning, and emptying litter bins.
11. Ensure the safe use of chemicals and cleaning materials as instructed by the Premises and Compliance Manager.
12. Operate cleaning machinery on soft and hard surfaces, following Health & Safety guidelines.
13. Maintain all school standards of hygiene and safety of all cleaning equipment and cleaning cupboards in your charge.
14. Report any hazards, defects, and relevant factors affecting building or environment safety to the Premises and Compliance Manager, utilizing the Parago system as required.
