Our esteemed client is seeking an Engineering Facilities and Planning Manager to join their team at the Port of Great Yarmouth and help them keep the world moving!
YOUR ROLE:
In this role, you manage the Great Yarmouth asset base and information using the internal SAP EAM system, providing key user support and ensuring adherence to internal compliance and external legislation. Working closely with other departments, you will plan and create robust preventative maintenance plans, ensuring schedules are in line with operational demands and business asset strategy.
You will support the development of the wider team and ensure the achievement of engineering KPIs. You will ensure the highest standards in Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality are at the forefront of all activities. You will deliver strategic and local minor capital projects to quality, time, and budget, leading the core project team to ensure effective delivery. You will manage permit to work systems and relationships with contractors/third parties via service levels reviews.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING:
You will have previous experience in an Engineering role, ideally gained in a heavy engineering sector and the ability to manage a small team of skilled engineers. You will have demonstrable experience of planning and delivering effective asset management. With excellent communication skills, you will have experience building and managing relationships with contractors and third parties. You will have previous experience managing and delivering minor capital projects and a commitment to ensuring Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality standards are at the forefront of all activities.
Overall Objective
1. Develop, manage and deliver a series of construction and engineering projects as directed by the Business and/or Business Unit Manager.
2. Perform project duties, ensuring briefs are agreed, contracts in place, and works are being managed in line with budget and agreed health, safety, and quality standards.
3. Ensure that strategic decisions and resulting change programs relating to the role are successfully delivered within the agreed timescales and costs.
4. Manage the Great Yarmouth asset base and information using our SAP-EAM system.
Main Responsibilities
1. Delivery of Strategic and local projects to quality, time, and cost in accordance with statutory legislation and mandatory company standards.
2. Manage and provide key user support for SAP - EAM.
3. Ensure adherence to internal compliance and external legislation.
4. Ensure contractor and supplier management is maintained by means of service level review including site inductions, RA-MS in place, and all relevant permits to work.
5. Ensure schedules are in line with operational demand and the business's asset strategies.
6. First point of contact for breakdown and PM issues.
7. Support the achievement of Engineering KPI’s.
8. Compile and distribute asset availability reports.
9. Working with Operations, Marine, Customers, and the Group to plan in preventative maintenance and defect correction work.
10. Support Team Leaders and skilled colleagues for solutions around 1st time fix, response times, WIP, PMs, etc., and other process improvement opportunities.
11. Ensure the highest standards in Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality are at the forefront of all projects.
12. Manage the lifecycle of a project through feasibility, approval, design, construction, completion, commissioning, handover, and post-project review. Construct and lead the core project team to ensure effective delivery of a project.
13. Procure sufficient resources to deliver the programmed project workload.
14. Use appropriate monitoring & reporting systems to provide a professional project management service.
15. Identify and manage risks within the project lifecycle including preparation and upkeep of risk registers and contingency logs.
16. Oversee the construction process including contractual matters, performance, quality, health, safety, and environment.
17. Undertake and administer visible felt leadership tours on a monthly basis.
18. Attend management/supplier/customer meetings as and when required.
