QUALITY ENGINEER (QHSE)
Due to ongoing and consistent global sales (20% annual headcount growth), this thriving, market leading business is looking for a Quality Engineer (QHSE) to join their well-established Burton On Trent based team. Working a Mon–Fri week you will attract a package of up £35-40K plus 25 Hols + Pension + Healthcare benefits.
The Quality Engineer (QHSE) role will need a strong and confident communicator with an excellent understanding of ISO standards (9001/14001/45001) and a background in auditing to those standards. You will be analytical, systematic and process driven with a proven background of improving standards via data.

The Role
Reporting to the Technical Manager/HSE Manager you will be part of a small specialist team, covering 4 UK sites and ensuring compliance of incoming and outgoing materials by verification of certification against requested specifications. You will also be required to stand in for senior managers and support the functions in their absence.
Core duties:
* Ensuring compliance of incoming and outgoing materials by verification of certification against requested specifications.
* Plan and manage the internal audits by preparation of an audit plan, scheduling reviews and conducting or delegating audits to ISO 9001, 45001, 14001.
* Produce audit reports and issue findings to management and highlight their impact to the company
* Maintain the internal quality document register. Ensuring that the referenced procedures, processes and forms are the latest revisions and that any changes are made in good time.
* Collaborate with all internal departments to investigate non-conformances within the quality management system, if required perform additional internal audits and implement preventative actions.
* Management of the non-conformance register in relation to both internal manufacturing and materials procured from sub-contractors. Perform weekly non-conformance review meetings, ensuring NCRs are closed in a swift manner.
* Investigate internal non-conformance reports using root cause analyse tools, with the aim of identifying trends.
* Produce key performance indicator (KPI) statistics as directed by the Technical and HSE Manager.
* Liaise with customer, suppliers and third-party inspectors over non-conformances raised to ensure suitable feedback and closure.
* Perform Technical Contract Reviews with a focus on material suitability in relation to the associated specifications/standards. Understanding testing criteria and limitations of materials. Assessment of the general technical and quality requirements of the purchase order. Ensure that the commercial department are aware of any technical deviation/cost implications that may not have been accredited for. Contract Review applies to Group purchase orders.
* Producing bespoke material certification following internal manufacturing processes.
* Be flexible in the approach to take on new tasks that arise not only within quality but also technical, certification and engineering areas.
* Assist with HSE risk assessments.
* Creating and implementing Operator Care Points for control of workshop processes.
* Procedure creation and revision.
* Representing the Technical and QA departments both onsite and at our subcontractors. For example, kick off meetings, site inspection, technical audits and expediting visits.
* Other duties as required by the Technical Department.
Skills
Degree qualified in an engineering/science subject (Or equivalent).
Internal Auditor of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001.
Required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent computer literacy (MS Office).
Excellent knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001.
Internal Auditor of at least one standard (ISO 9001, 14001 or 45001)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Willing to travel to customer or supplier locations
