Job Title: 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: This school is based within the SP6, Salisbury area.
Job Type: This position is for the Summer Term, 3 days a week (Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday)

Job Summary:
This role will require the educator to work directly with a specific student to support their learning, development, and emotional wellbeing, under the direction of the class teacher and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
The individual child is currently awaiting an ASD diagnosis, needs support with communication techniques due to being non-verbal. The school are looking for an individual who is able to commit, establish a secure friendship and be patient with their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide tailored support to individual students with SEN to help them access the curriculum.
* Assist students with personal care tasks where necessary (e.g., toileting, feeding, mobility).
* Provide emotional and behavioural support to help students manage their feelings and behaviour.
* Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to identify the needs of the student and implement appropriate strategies.
* Assist in creating and maintaining Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
* Help students develop social and communication skills through structured activities.
* Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to manage challenging behaviours.
* Knowledge of specific SEN (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia) is beneficial but not always required.
