CNC Production Engineer - St Neots - Motorsport
We currently have a role available for a Production Engineer to become part of our small and highly skilled manufacturing team.
You will become part of our specialist production engineering team ensuring components are fully reviewed and engineered for production on our comprehensive range of CNC machine tools.
As a Production Engineer you will use your technical skill along with relevant software packages to fully engineer a wide range of components ready for manufacture. Building strong relationships with the on-site manufacturing team as well as the Design and Quality engineers.
Activities
1. Complete comprehensive review of intent parts for tolerances and suitability for manufacture.
2. Design machining fixtures for production components using Open Mind hyperCAD-S 3D modelling software.
3. Produce suitable CNC programs, using the latest Open Mind HYPERMILL software.
4. Identify and specify the most appropriate cutting tools to ensure efficient removal rates.
5. Liaise with both production and design teams to support the economic and efficient manufacturing of components.
6. Act as point of reference for resolution of production related issues.
7. Work with sales dept to offer technical support as required.
8. Focus on the business KPIs to achieve departmental objectives.
The person
1. Ideally you will have been an experienced and skilled CNC machinist within a precision manufacturing environment.
2. You will also have worked with castings and have an understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
3. You have a keen eye for detail and are extremely well organised.
4. Strong computer programming skills using relevant CAD/CAM software packages.
5. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and able to influence key stakeholders.
