Job Responsibilities – Competences: Carry out film and polymer analytical routine and nonroutine testing using a variety of laboratory techniques. Ensure laboratory equipment is accurately calibrated. Monitoring and ordering of all laboratory consumables. Ensure that the laboratory is kept in a clean and presentable condition. Build and maintain a ‘library’ of polymers. Collection of samples from production areas as required. Order and maintain relevant and up to date ISO and ASTM standards. Carry out all duties in accordance with site product safety, hygiene and environmental procedures. Completion of duties in a safe and responsible manner and in accordance with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974, making recommendations for improvement through Health & Safety Representatives as appropriate. Completion of ad-hoc duties to meet the needs of the business, subject to appropriate training. Essential Experience Experience of science or Engineering A level qualification Essential Skills and Knowledge Sound IT Skills in all Microsoft Office programmes. Laboratory testing and analytical experience. Desirable individual Qualities Enquiring and analytical mind. Strong problem-solving skills.
