Assistant Vendor Manager (Europe Region)
The Assistant Vendor Manager (Europe) is responsible for sourcing suitable and competitive local access and collocation solutions, in a timely manner. S/he manages the relationships with international carriers and local vendors in the Europe region. S/he is able to recommend and implement cost savings initiatives and negotiates with vendors for best cost and commercial terms.
The Assistant Vendor Manager helps drive quoting automation, vendor onboarding and best rates onto the Console Connect Platform. S/he supports the overall Vendor Management department goal of implementing an appropriate vendor strategy that affords the company the best options for services, prices and performance.
Specific duties include:
* Support Presales, Product and Engineering for sourcing in-region capacity and access requirements
* Regular reviews with vendors about commercial offers, new products, delivery and service performances
* Support the company’s automation quoting projects, and quoting system enhancement
* Support cost-saving initiatives, such as discounts on renewals, vendor migrations, outage credits, etc.
* Develop closer vendor relations and share in-region market insights with internal teams
* Evaluate potential new vendors and support the vetting process, in line with company policies and strategies
* Support the Europe Team Head in various reporting and projects matters.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of working experience in sourcing & vendor management functions in the Telecom industry
* Moderate technical knowledge and telecom products (e.g. IPLC/IEPL, EoSDH, MPLS VPN, IP, Colocation)
* Understanding of sourcing workflow and vendor evaluation
* Detailed-oriented, well-organized, self-initiative, and able to work under pressure
* Excellent analytical skill, problem-solving, communication and negotiation skills
* Business travel for vendor meetings/conferences/internal meetings is required
* Perform tasks outside normal business hours with the flexible working schedule if necessary
* Good command of written and spoken English
* Proficient in MS Office and Google Working Suite environment
* Experience in using Jira and Trello is an advantage
