This maternity cover position offers a full-time role within a dynamic and supportive academic environment.
Role Overview:
As a Law and Criminology Teacher, you will:
Deliver engaging lessons aligned with the A Level Law and Criminology curriculum.
Support students in developing a critical understanding of legal systems, criminal behavior, and the societal impact of law and crime.
Assess, monitor, and contribute to the academic growth of students, preparing them for exams and further education.
Foster a classroom environment that encourages inquiry, analysis, and a passion for learning.
Law and Criminology Course Highlights:
A Level Law: Covers core topics such as the English legal system, criminal and civil law processes, legal reasoning, and the principles of criminal liability (actus reus and mens rea). Students explore roles like solicitors, barristers, and judges while engaging in projects such as mock trials.
A Level Criminology: Focuses on understanding criminal behavior, theories of crime, and crime prevention strategies. Students explore real-world applications through case studies, emphasizing societal responses to crime and the role of the justice system.
Qualifications and Skills Required for Law and Criminology Teacher:
A recognized teaching qualification and a degree in Law, Criminology, or a related field.
Proven experience teaching A Level or equivalent courses in Law and/or Criminology.
Strong classroom management and a passion for engaging learners.
