Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) is looking to appoint part-time residential porters to join our team at one of our residences at the University of Sussex. The primary function of the post holder is to carry out porter duties, attend to both student and visitor enquiries, carry out minor maintenance and inspections, and to offer assistance to our residents. Some cleaning, patrol, and other associated duties will be required.
We are looking for someone who is driven to providing excellent customer service, has experience in working in a public-facing setting, and has basic IT skills or a willingness to learn new skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with a wide range of people from different backgrounds, be able to work positively and collaboratively in a team, possess good record-keeping skills, have a conscientious approach to work, and be proactive and diligent.
Position will offer a minimum of 12 hours per week on a fixed basis as well as covering shortages in staffing levels of our permanent staff on a variety of shifts 24/7, 7 days a week.

* Proactive and reliable team player who can work using their own initiative;
* Committed to the delivery of excellent Customer Service in a diverse working environment;
* Able to communicate clearly and has clear and concise oral and written communication skills;
* PC literate and has the knowledge and skills to use a computer and other related technology;
* Flexible and able to work additional hours when required. A driving licence is desirable but not essential for the role.
